Making a Reservation
Check Availability Dates or Call to speak with me personally. At the time of booking you have the option of paying the full 100% of the rental package price or if you wish to split the payment you can pay 50% to reserve your travel dates with the remaining 50% due 30 days before your trip begins. (See cancelation terms below)
Rental Package includes Mileage and Insurance
Included Miles Mileage Allowance
The rental rate includes a mileage allowance of 100 daily miles. You are not restricted in the amount of miles you travel. You may go over your included mileage allowance, however for the extra wear and tear odometer depreciation I must charge .25 cents per mile extra, which will be deducted from your security deposit.
Included Basic California State Insurance
Your rental includes basic mandated California state law insurance.

- Bodily injury per accident $30,000
- Property damage liability up to $5,000
For additional peace of mind, I recommend that you purchase the $1Million dollar Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) for $14.95/day. It’s a small price to pay for a lot more coverage. You will receive an email 7 days before your trip begins with a link to purchase this additional insurance coverage. (optional but recommended)
Supplemental Liability Insurance SLI coverage:
- Bodily injury per accident up to $1,000,000
- Property damage liability up to $50,000
It’s also a good idea to have RV roadside assistance. Some auto policies include RV rentals, some don’t. So check before you purchase it. If your auto policy does not include an RV you are renting, Good Sam’s offers RV Roadside Assistance for $44, which includes any owned and rented vehicle you drive for 6 months. They do not always advertise this 6 month policy so call and ask for it. The Good Sam RV Roadside Assistance phone number is 1-888-724-2582.
You may purchase roadside assistance anytime before or during your trip, however, obviously not after an incident has occurred.
Cleaning and Sanitation Fee $120
A flat $120 fee for cleaning and sanitizing the RV is due to be paid 15 days before your trip begins.
Only pre-authorized pets are allowed in the RV. Cats and Dogs will require an additional $100 cleaning fee to remove pet hair and dander from the interior of the RV including the vents.
Refundable Security / Damage Deposit $2000
You pay and I hold a $2,000 security / damage deposit 7 days before your trip begins. This deposit will be released, less any damages or charges incurred (fuel, mileage charges, etc) within 14 business days of returning the RV. In the event of an accident this deposit will be used to cover your insurance deductible.
Guaranteed 30 day Cancellations
I offer guaranteed money back full refunds up to 30 days before your trip is scheduled to begin.
If you need to cancel your reservation within 30 days of your trip you will receive a one time booking credit up to the amount paid to use towards a new reservation. Your one time use booking credit is valid for 6 months with a rescheduled date not to exceed one year. Example: If you receive a booking credit on January 1st, you must schedule a new booking date no later than June 30th and leave on your trip no later than December 31st.
In the event that the cost of your new reservation is less than your paid credit, no refunds will be given. In the event that the cost of your new reservation is more than your paid credit, the remaining balance must be paid at the time of your new booking.
I do not offer refunds for shortened trips if for some reason (e.g. weather, change in schedule) you return the RV early.
I reserve the right to cancel a reservation at my discretion if I feel that the rental would not be safe (e.g. a renter shows up intoxicated, a hurricane is expected along the coast, roads are too icy, etc.). If I cancel the reservation you will receive a full refund.
You must be over 25 years of age to rent an RV. I will require a copy of your drivers license. If you’ve had two or more major moving violations or any DUIs in the past, you will not be able to rent my RV.
I am able to accommodate international drivers with a valid International drivers license. International travelers are required to present their passport.
Driving Fines, Tolls and Fees
You are responsible for any fines, tolls, or campground registration fees.
Conduct While Driving
You agree to never drive in a careless or negligent manner while driving a my RV, nor to drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, nor permit operation of the vehicle by any person except those signed to the agreement.
No off-road driving is permitted.
Travel is restricted to the US and Canada. Travel to Mexico and select festivals is strictly prohibited.
The entire security deposit will be forfeited if there is evidence of travel to Mexico or my RV is taken anywhere near the Burning Man festival. Additional fines of up to $5,000 may apply.
Renter Responsibilities Regarding Maintenance of the Vehicle
You are responsible for checking all fluid levels, including oil and coolant levels at each refueling. You are also responsible for checking air tire pressure, lug nuts and wheels at each refueling. You are responsible for mechanical damages due to operation and/or maintenance.
The RV will have a full tank of gas and propane when you pick it up. Please make sure to refill these tanks before you return my RV. Alternatively, we’ll refuel the gas and/or propane for you at a cost of $6/gallon with these charges being deducted from your security deposit.
If you are in an accident please call me at (949) 397-7766 as soon as it is safe to do so. If the accident involves other drivers, please be sure to get the license and insurance information of everyone involved. You should also plan on calling the local authorities to report the accident. You MUST take multiple photos at the scene showing all angles of the RV, all damages to the RV and other vehicles, as well as the surrounding area. If the accident results in disruption of your trip, you are responsible for any lodging, transportation or food costs while the RV is out of service, as well as any necessary repairs to the RV, towing charges, and cost of returning the RV to me. If an insurance claim is necessary your security deposit will cover the deductible on comp and collision.
If you experience a mechanical failure, please contact me at (949) 397-7766 as soon as possible to report and discuss the issue. You will be held responsible for all Roadside Assistance charges. For breakdowns that last 24 hours or longer, I agree to credit the daily rental rate for the amount of time the RV is out of service. You are responsible for any lodging, transportation or food costs while the vehicle is out of service.
If the mechanical failure is due to no fault of yours (e.g. the timing belt breaks) I will cover any costs associated with the repair and recovery of the vehicle. If, however, it is deemed that the mechanical failure is the result of negligence (e.g. you failed to check the oil levels) or inappropriate driving (e.g. off-roading abuse), you will be held responsible for covering the cost of the repair and recovery.
Minor Scrapes, Dings and Damage
If you are driving along and a rock dings the windshield, you are responsible for any costs associated with fixing the windshield. This is true of any small ding, scratch, or minor damage to the RV. We will preform a joint walk around the RV and record any body damage. The cost to repair minor scrapes, dings and damages will be deducted from your security deposit.
Please do not smoke cigarettes, tobacco, marijuana, or anything else in and around the RV.
Pick Up and Drop Off
There is no set pick up and drop off time. I will work together with you to make arrangements suited to your needs. At pick up, you’ll receive a detailed orientation and a driving lesson in the RV. Plan on about an hour to finalize paperwork and fully acquaint yourself with the RV. There is no time limit. I will spend as much time as needed during your orientation.
The rental period is considered to be 24 hours. If you pick up the van at 10 am, you’ll be expected to return it by 10 am on the return day. For every hour beyond the 24 hour time period, I charge $30/hour. For example, if you pick up the RV at 10 am, but wish to return it at 5 pm, you’ll be charged for an additional 7 hours. All late returns must be approved in advance and are subject to RV insurance authorization. If not arranged in advance you run the risk of losing your full security deposit. In some cases, adding a half-day to your rental will make more sense and be more cost effective. Please inquire about half day add-ons as appropriate. You are responsible for paying all charges for any cancelations resulting in you not returning the RV within 2 hours of the next renter’s pick up time.
